African-Amerian Gothic

African-America Gothic.

A close-up portraits of models stood on the step  behind the wooden house. That was  my  grandparents Willie and Sam Eugene.

The Artist Statement: This picture is much similiar to a famous painting called "America Gothic". The photograph show Sam standing beside his wife Willie.  Willie was dressed in a white dresses and hat worn evoking 1950's clothing. The couples no longer live broken spirits and cruel hard labor since the end of slavery. Sam was working for better quality of life. The flowers symbolize new hope and happiness.
