Gallaudet Dance Company Spring Dance Concert presents” Power of Life”
On March 30, 2012, I took a day off from my work. I was excited to do my second assignment for dance concert photography. The event took place in the Andrew Foster Auditorium at Gallaudet University. Shooting a stage performance was quite a challenge for me. I had to prepare and bring a few extra memory cards. Spring Dance Concert had featured 15 Gallaudet dancers, dozen guest performers, and dancers from other dance companies. The performance ran one hour. I had to take as many shots as possible in succession. Dance photography is a good fit for me because I like candid & natural light. It is an opportunity for me to learn how to handle motion in different lighting situations. And, I like to seek inspiration and energy from the essence of dancers before catching great pictures.
What is Gallaudet Dance Company? The Gallaudet Dance Company is a performing group of approximately twelve Deaf and hard of hearing dancers.
